Team Screens 'N' Spokes Rules the Road
This weekend 7,000 riders took to the roads of New Jersey in support of the fight against MS, and Team Screens 'N' Spokes was out in full force. It was the most successful City to Shore Ride yet, and the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter is on pace to raise a record $5 million dollars.
I was so impressed with everyone's riding. Rookies and veterans alike road strong, set personal bests, and, most importantly, had a great time.
It has also been an incredibly successful year for Screens 'N' Spokes fundraising. We've already smashed our totals of 2007, having broken the $38,000 mark today!
But we aren't done yet. We are still fundraising for 2008 through October 31. Every donation made and prints ordered from now until Halloween will go towards those record-setting numbers.
In case you haven't checked out our Etsy shop, now is the time. Prints have been moving swiftly, and there are so many beautiful pieces to choose from.
Registration for the 2009 Bike MS:City to Shore is already up and running. If you've ever thought about trying the ride, this is the year to do it, and we'd love you to join our squad.

Screens 'N' Spokes 2008 Now For Sale!
Good morning everybody,
We had a great time at our final opening at Chapterhouse on Friday. Everything looks great and prints are being snapped up off the walls.
With the end of our openings, it was time to start loading all these beautiful prints onto our online store. As of last night, we now have nearly every print up on our etsy site and available for purchase. A ton of amazing work was put into making this show a reality, and we hope you'll find something in the 2008 prints that you'll love.
Just a reminder, all of this incredible art was designed and created specifically for the 2008 Screens 'N' Spokes show and as an incredibly generous gift to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. 100% of the proceeds we collect from the show goes directly towards helping create a world free of MS.
Over the weekend we began selling prints by Jay Ryan, Brad Klausen and Mike Munter. We still have a few available, and they can be purchased by e-mailing us.
The rest of the prints can be found and our handy dandy Etsy site:

Please tell your biking friends, your art-loving friends, or just anyone you think might be interested in what we are doing.
Thanks so much for the support,
Jess and Sam

Screens 'N' Spokes: Dan Grzeca
Dan Grzeca (pronounced “Jet-sah”) is a painter and printmaker from Chicago. He has been making hand screenprinted posters and prints for the last 10 years or so. He’s made posters for bands such as the Melvins, Vandermark Five, Peter Brotzmann, the Black Keys and many many more. Dan’s painting process greatly affects the way he makes screenprints; in person the prints reflect a great depth in texture and color. He strives as hard as he can to even make the humble show poster a thing of lasting art, and has definitely achieved this goal with his gorgeous SNS print.
Screens 'N' Spokes: Largemammal
Kevin Mercer - Oaklyn, NJ
Kevin Mercer of Largemammal Print is a champion rock paper scissors competitor. He makes screen printed posters, art, design, junk, is far too interested in the history of typography, loves his greyhound, cooks for his wife, is teaching himself web programming, will make you watch Pootie Tang, and deeply cherishes the Cy Twombly room at the PMA. Kevin's SNS print is a solitary, introspective design that prominently sums up what we're all about with a quote by a local chap named Ben Franklin. In Franklin's words, energy and persistence conquer all things...
Screens 'N' Spokes: Mark Forsman
Mark currently attends the School of Visual Arts in New York City were he studies Advertising. When taking a break from school he prints posters and drinks beer with friends. When printing, Mark puts paper under the screen, pulls, and prays like hell that it comes out alright.
Screens 'N' Spokes: Daniel Harris Levine
Dan Levine provides guitar, glockenspiel, and vocals for Boston-based band Family Junction, a group of five friends that date back to the days of summer camp. A graduate of Clark University in Worcester, MA, he majored in English, minored in Jazz, and currently practices his screenprinting techniques while touring up and down the East Coast with Family Junction. Dan also designed and hand printed the first ever SNS t-shirts on quality American Apparel tees, available at the SNS Opening for just $10.
Screens 'N' Spokes: Gary Houston
Gary Houston resides in Portland, Oregon, is a graphic designer, and has a production studio. He makes posters and prints for various bands and events. All of the poster work is hand pulled screenprints. The art is done in a variety of ways, from scratchboard illustration to inked drawings and hand cut films. The work is very organic and definitely hands on. Gary took personal inspiration for his SNS print: one of his close friends, featured here in a constellation that is printed immaculately on smooth navy paper, lives with MS. You have to see this one in person- it is just stunning.

Screens 'N' Spokes Show opens TONIGHT!
Our apologies on being MIA recently with the blog updates, but believe me when I tell you it hasn't been due to lack of work on the Screens 'N' Spokes show. Quite the contrary. The past few weekends we've been locked away in a basement outside Philadelphia framing, framing, framing.
Finally this weekend we were let out of the dark and brought our beautiful Screens 'N' Spokes prints to Mugshots, MilkBoy, and Chapterhouse. All three shows are now up on the walls, and I couldn't be more pleased with how they turned out!
We've been derelict in our promise to bring you the previews of all our prints...so here it comes!
Screens 'N' Spokes: G. Kelly
I first became familiar with Gina's art when I saw it in a joint show with Judge called "American Handscape" in Williamsburg, Brooklyn this past January. Like many of the artists contributing to Screens 'N' Spokes, Gina has a printing style that is uniquely her own - there is a real painterly quality to her pieces. When we first opened up these prints I immediately commented that the artist must be from the West Coast. All lush, green, and hilly, I only wish this were the actual City to Shore bike route.

In other news, Team Screens 'N' Spokes is at the $16,300 mark in our fundraising - over half way there! Keep up the great work!
